Monthly update for my 8-person design team. We shipped the new checkout, the onboarding test lifted signups 12%, two people are on leave next month, and I need help picking our Q1 focus.
Companies, people and numbers in the example briefs are made up, unless they’re public facts like history or science.
The look Cue chose

Motion
Slow and settled. Ease is a long soft out-curve, 0.9 to 1.2 s. Headlines rise word by word from behind a mask, 70 ms apart. Photos drift with a slow Ken Burns. Lines draw left to right. Nothing bounces, nothing spins.
Transitions
Mostly fade and dissolve at about 0.8 s. Use wipe for before and after or a change of subject, push when the story moves forward in time. Cut only into a quiet statement slide.
Slide by slide
6 slides, with what the presenter says. Highlighted words are cues: saying them makes something on the slide move.

Cover
Opens with a fade
Thanks, everyone, for a really solid month. We shipped the new checkout, and the onboarding test moved signups. After that, I want to talk about what's coming up: next month's leave and our Q1 focus.
2
Checkout shipped
Enters with a push
First win. The new checkout is out, and customers are using it now. We rebuilt every step, from the order to delivery to payment. And as of this month it's live. This one belongs to all of us, so thank you.

Onboarding result
Enters with a wipe
Second win, and it's the number I want you to remember. The new onboarding lifted signups by twelve percent. If we call signups before the test one hundred, we now get one hundred and twelve. You can see the second bar stands taller. That came straight from the work you did on those screens.

Next month leave
Enters with a slide over
Now for next month. Two of us will be on leave, so for a few weeks we're a team of six, not eight. That's fine, but I want us all to see it plainly. We'll plan for six, not pretend we're still eight.

Cover plan
Enters with a iris
So let's sort out cover now, not the week someone leaves. For each piece of work in progress, we agree who covers it. Then we tick it off once it's properly handed over. I'd like us to fill this in today, in this meeting.

Q1 focus
Enters with a zoom through
Last thing, and it's the big one. We need to pick what we focus on from january to the end of March. I don't want to choose it for you. Bring your ideas, and let's decide it together.
Make one like it.
